Daycare
Our licensed daycare is one of our core programs that supports our rural families. It is licensed under the Ministry of Education and follows the requirements as set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCYEA). The daycare is a valuable service for rural families within our catchment. We believe in enriching experiences that lead to positive outcomes for families, children and staff. Together, we can grow in an environment that sees children as competent, capable, curious and rich in potential.
Our centre is licensed for 24 children. We have two rooms for the different age groupings. One room is our infant and toddler room and the other is our preschool room. The ratio of children to Early Childhood Educators is different for each age group:
EarlyON
What is EarlyON?
EarlyON is designed to provide a broad set of free programs and resources for parents and their young children ages 0- 6. EarlyON programs are offered in more than 900 locations. EarlyON Child and Family Centres enhance children’s learning and development, provide support and resources to parents and caregivers, and connect families to community services. EarlyON Centres are places to engage and connect with others in the community and feel a sense of belonging. You will be welcomed by qualified Early Childhood Educators.
EarlyON Centres are where children and their parents/caregivers can learn, play, laugh, be curious, make friends and engage with others

Youth
Our youth program began in 2007 as a pilot project through an Ontario Trillium Grant. Since that time the program has continued to expand and flourish.
With funding from various grants and Frontenac County Municipalities we are able to offer programs that allow youth the ability to be physically healthy, develop their leadership skills, and socially connect with their peers.
Our program is set up so that all youth have an ability to grow into teens that are healthy, successful and engaged through a supportive setting. We also engage youth by removing barriers such as prohibitive fee costs and transportation.

Frontenac Transportation Services
Frontenac Transportation Services provides rides for adults, seniors and children living in North, Central and South Frontenac and Frontenac Islands. We work with Frontenac County to fulfill the County’s strategic goal of providing:
- A safe, convenient, effective transportation system for all citizens of Frontenac County, including those citizens who do not have access to a personal vehicle.
- FTS is based on a unique business model wherein community members volunteer their time to drive other residents to medical appointments, day care, recreational complexes, etc. and are reimbursed for the cost of operating their vehicle.
- Rides are dispatched from the Frontenac Transportation Office in Sharbot Lake.
We employ two part time staff who:
- Match ride requests with our volunteer drivers
- Assist clients in accessing travel subsidy
- Support high risk clients when issues are identified
- Manage the database, billing and driver reimbursement

“Thank you so much for all the care you and your team have given my uncle and aunt… It’s been difficult at times to be there for their many needs. Your team has been so helpful… you have been a godsend to me.”
